The Role
As a Technical Consultant specializing in environment and release management, you will be a key member of the Veeva Technical Services team. You will be working on our industry-leading Vault Platform, which powers all Veeva applications across the Commercial and Dev Cloud spaces.
You will join the Environment & Deployment Excellence Team within Technical Services. Our team oversees large-scale development workstreams and robust environment landscapes, ensuring reliable, automated configuration deployments with version control. Development teams depend on our expertise in maintaining safe code isolation and effectively managing conflicts across multiple workstreams.
The role requires a technical mindset: you will take care not only of the release standards, but the release package creation, the version control system built around it, the data migration itself, and the troubleshooting. We use a dedicated “toolset base” that includes free source ones as well as massive in-house built and continuously upgraded applications.
What You'll DoDesign and implement release strategies and configuration distribution modelsDefine and enforce standards for development, configuration deployment, and environment managementBuild, test, and deploy configuration packages through automated CI/CD pipelines and version control systemsResponsible for managing and synchronizing multiple project workstreams, proactively identifying and mitigating risks arising from cross-project dependenciesCreate and maintain Vault sandbox environments for production, QA, and development purposesServe as a subject matter expert to help establish environment management strategies for new customersAnalyze and propose optimal deployment solutions for new product featuresCollaborate with the developer teams, and support their workContribute to internal projects by developing innovative tools to improve deployment quality, efficiency, and speedDeliver knowledge transfers and provide ad-hoc training to customer teamsRequirementsExperience & Education:2+ years of professional experience in software development, DevOps, or a similar technical roleA Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent practical experienceProven experience in full lifecycle software implementation projectsCandidates must be eligible for employment in EuropeTechnical Skills:Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git)Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilitiesSolid understanding of the following:Relational databasesAPI principles and web servicesContinuous Integration (CI/CD) pipelinesXMLPackage automation and deploymentQualities & Communication:A passion for technology and a drive to solve complex challengesExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to support technical and non-technical stakeholders#RemoteHungary
