The Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test to join our Vault Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering skills and experience in testing infrastructure components using automation techniques. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation frameworks, writing automated tests, and optimizing testing processes for our infrastructure changes and features.
What You'll DoUnderstand Vault infrastructure architecture, utilizing AWS/Kubernetes/Docker experience for testing infra changesSetup/maintain/test/improve infrastructure test environmentDevelop and contribute to the automation strategy for infrastructure features, including Zero downtime upgrades/HA/DR, etc.Apply programming skills to automate and optimize cloud-based infrastructure testingBuild, maintain, and improve the existing automation framework, test harness, and processesArchitect, develop, and maintain automated tests, seamlessly integrating them into CI/CD pipelines while optimizing test executionPerform various activities such as test execution, bug verifications, and triage automation results within release milestonesContribute to technical discussions during design/implementation reviews to ensure quality is built into the productCollaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and other QA engineersMentor other team members by providing guidance and feedbackRequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related technical fieldAutomation Expertise: 5+ years of experience in software development or test automation, focusing on infrastructure testingCoding Expertise: Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or Bash/Shell scriptingCloud Tech Familiarity: Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure technologies, including AWS EC2, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, EKS, etc.Advanced Automation Prowess: Experience designing and implementing infrastructure automation strategiesCI/CD Savvy: Advanced knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, with hands-on experience in tools like JenkinsOpen Source Champion: Proficient in GitLab and GitHub for version control, along with familiarity with Maven, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, and BDDProblem-solving and Adaptability: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing prioritiesCommunication Virtuoso: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsVeeva’s headquarters is located in the San Francisco Bay Area with offices in more than 15 countries around the world.
