APEX is looking for a strong analytical Manager II, to join a high-performing team supporting Sales and Marketing initiatives.  In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering analysis, insights, and recommendations to Marketing leaders in support of brand strategy.  You’ll use your analytics expertise and relevant data to identify trends in performance and build a narrative around appropriate strategic and tactical adjustments to drive increased business performance. You will be expected to partner with Brand and Sales Leadership, including commercial VP, to align Marketing strategies and key priorities while supporting the current and future portfolio. 

A successful candidate would be a self-motivated analytics leader with strong business acumen and people skills. The candidate understands business questions, has a thorough analytical modeling methodology to solve problems, and efficiently communicates actionable insights to a broad group of stakeholders through exceptional oral and written communication.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Independently working with key business stakeholders, up to VP, to provide data-driven actionable insights. Become an indispensable business partner to commercial stakeholders (marketing and sales) via consistent high-quality data-driven analysis with strategic mindset for a critical growth brand for AbbVie.
  • Lead fast-paced ad-hoc analytics projects, including taking initiative to identify the key business questions relative to product performance, that inform strategical and tactical decision-making, as well as brand planning process, ensuring multiple stakeholders’ perspectives are considered and integrated where relevant.
  • Strengthen the organization’s understanding of marketplace performance and opportunities through tracking, modeling, and analysis of physician- and patient-level dynamics within quickly evolving competitive landscape.
  • Evaluate the impact & contribution of various promotional tactics [directed to physicians and consumers] on new patient starts and total prescription volume, monitor business performance against forecasting and determine root cause if any deviation to share back with key stakeholders with excellent oral and written communication.
  • Guide development of marketing investment strategy to increase the effectiveness and/or efficiency of promotional activities [through marketing mix] and influence the deployment of specific promotional tactics through local optimization recommendations. 
  • Collaborate with forecasting to ensure data integrity and inform the financial forecasting through calibration of patient flow models.
  • Utilize innovative, advanced modeling and analytic methods and produce results that fully leverage available resources, including data, analytics, cross functional insights across market research, patient services, market access, finance, BTS, HEOR, etc.
  • Effectively work with cross-functional partners to deliver integrated analytics and measurement plan reflecting the diverse contributions across the functions where relevant.

  • Analytic skills as defined by one or more of the following:
    • Statistics / Data Science:  experienced practitioner of rigorous techniques, who can accurately interpret analysis / model results. Strong statistical or econometric backgrounds valued.
    • Programming: ability to define business rules and write query / codes to accurately pull and organize the right data
    • Visualization: adept at selecting appropriate visualizations to convey data, and comfortable creating polished PowerPoint presentations
    • Storytelling: proficiently create a cohesive narrative that addresses the key business questions without sacrificing data integrity or losing the plot in a clear and concise fashion. Anticipate and address stakeholder needs / questions in credible ways.
  • Resourceful problem solver who can identify the right business question to solve and recommend feasible solution(s) with strong business acumen and creativity
