Global Biologics Laboratory (GBL) responsible for the release testing of Biologics Drug product for the network, is also based on the Cruiserath Biologics Campus.

The Role

Bristol Myers Squibb is looking to recruit ona permanent contract, a Director, Facilities Services International Global Facilities Services, based in Dublin OR Boudry (Switzerland).

Based on your function, department or individual position, you will have the opportunity to discuss with your Manager the option to work remotely up to 50% of the time, over a two-week period, with the flexibility to choose the days that align with your collaboration needs.

Accountable for the development and achievement of the international Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) strategy, definition of services and initiatives to improve the outsourced service programs in international markets, including but not limited to: Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asian Pacific (APAC), and China. 

This position will provide strategy and leadership in managing the overall contractual relationships with our global or regional IFM and major service providers to support global, regional, or site level objectives while achieving the total value proposition of the IFM model. 

 

The Director, Facilities Services will interact with the BMS regional leaders, site directors and site contract managers, to provide the tools, training, and systems to ensure consistent service delivery and performance management of IFM, and service providers throughout their international scope.  They will also be responsible for any initiatives, projects or programs that have a direct or indirect impact on the IFM/Non-IFM scope of work globally.  This includes: International market strategy and approach, IFM model analysis for new or potential sites, collaborating with global and local procurement on RFP process or facilitating performance analysis and corrective action planning.   

 

To achieve their objectives, this position will need to build an extended team collaborating routinely with international leaders, business unit leadership, site general managers and functional management, along with business partners such as:  procurement, finance, and legal.  The position will also include Interaction with impacted functions such as Quality, EHS, Contract Management/Performance Assurance (CMPR) and Senior Leadership. 

 

The position will report to the Sr. Director, Global Facilities Services. 

 

Focus  

Develop, in collaboration with the global and regional IFM providers, regional service providers and site facilities management, short and long-term strategies, service definitions, and initiatives to improve the assigned outsourced facilities services.  Ensure the execution of these strategies and plans to enable the success of the IFM Model for all in-scope services category. 

 

Develop, and Implement global IFM strategies and approaches to fulfill global, regional, or site level service requirements regardless of size and complexity.   

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Management 

  • Create an IFM Performance Management Center of Practice working group including site level and regional level key stakeholders. 

  • Develop and improve over time the applicable In-Scope services and related service definitions and statements of work, service metrics and pricing structures. 

  • Develop and improve over time the strategy and value proposition of the IFM model 

  • Oversee vendors and service providers representing greater than $100 Million in spend over 5 years. 

  • Develop short and long-term strategies for each applicable In-Scope service. 

  • Facilitate the development, review and approval of innovations and continuous improvement initiatives for each applicable In-Scope service. 

  • Develop and facilitate the implementation of global or regional standard practices & procedures to optimize services and the related service delivery processes for applicable In-Scope services. 

  • Leverage the expertise of the regional Service Provider in all aspects of design, standardization and optimization of the applicable In-Scope services and related service delivery processes. 

  • Oversee service delivery performance, including user satisfaction, on a global or regional basis for the applicable In-Scope services. 

  • Participate in and, as appropriate, facilitate the resolution of issues between BMS and the Global or Regional IFM Provider related to the applicable In-Scope services, including root cause analysis efforts. 

  • Manage the process for review, scope, price and approval of strategic / regional projects for the applicable In-Scope services. 

  • Develop and manage the relationship with the applicable service leaders within the Regional IFM Provider for the applicable In-Scope services. 

  • Develop and facilitate data analytics to provide guidance to site and regional leadership. 

 

General 

  • Provides leadership and council to international, regional and site personnel to ensure the proper delivery of the applicable In-Scope services and appropriate leverage of the global or regional IFM or service provider. 

  • Participate in global or regional reviews of the outsourcing program in such areas as service design, service metrics and performance, service satisfaction and initiatives to standardize and improve the services. 

  • Act as the regional liaison between the BMS business operations and the Regional IFM Provider for the applicable In-Scope services. 

  • Provide technical expertise in the area of Facilities Maintenance & Operations to drive BMS value for in-scope Hard Service. 

  • Drive consistency in service delivery across the region taking into consideration site purpose, location, and individual site culture. 

  • Maintain constant and effective communication and act as the liaison between service provider and customer base 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong leader with management style that exhibits high energy, collaboration, candor, openness and a results orientation. 

  • Strong understanding of facilities operations in a pharmaceutical environment including regulatory requirements and industry best practices. 

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective value-add relationships, including with key external vendors and service providers. 

  • Interpersonal and facilitation skills necessary to forge consensus among competing clients on critical and time sensitive issues. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a range of technically and culturally diverse people both within the company and with external business partners. 

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver value-added business results that meet and exceed high quality requirements within tight deadlines. 

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems/data gathered from a variety of sources and, through effective planning and decision-making, deliver superior business ideas and solutions.  

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to a diverse audience, at multiple levels within the company and to service providers, through a variety of mediums. 

  • Adapts to and anticipates a changing business environment. 

 

  • 10 to 15 years experience in the area of Facilities maintenance and/or operations. 

  • Strong experience managing large external business partners and vendors across various disciplines and geographies. 

  • Proven abilities in strategic planning and project management with an understanding of site maintenance needs. 

  • Demonstrated understanding of facilities operations in a regulated pharmaceutical  environment (GxP operations) 

  • Proven abilities to identify business opportunities/continuous improvements and leverage synergies with other teams and projects. 

  • Experience in developing and effectively managing both capital and expense budgets for site Facilities maintenance.  This includes an understanding of the three year capital portfolio planning process. 

  • Proven experience of achieving results in a changing business environment by leading cross functional teams 

  • Proven abilities to think and act broadly across multiple disciplines and departments. 

  • Demonstrated planning ability focused on business performance 

  • BS/BA in engineering discipline (mechanical preferred) or equivalent experience.
